Geofence Vehicle Alert
The Geofence Vehicle Alert system monitors vehicles in real time to detect when they enter or leave predefined geofenced areas. These geofences represent important locations such as warehouses, pickup points, delivery zones, or parking areas.
This alert system helps you stay informed about vehicle movements relative to critical geographic boundaries and enables transportation and logistics managers to respond quickly to exceptions.

How it Works
- The system periodically checks the current location of active vehicles.
- It compares each vehicle's coordinates with the boundaries of geofences configured in address records.
- If a vehicle crosses into or out of any geofence, an alert log entry is recorded indicating the movement type ("In" or "Out"), timestamp, and location details.
- The log entries maintain a historical record for tracking vehicle movements in relation to significant locations.
Alert Notifications
When a vehicle enters or leaves a geofenced area, an automatic email notification is sent to designated recipients. The notification email includes:
- Vehicle number
- Location name (derived from geofence address)
- Movement type (Entry or Exit)
- Timestamp of the event
- Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude)
Notifications are sent using the configured email account with clear subject and layout, helping users to take prompt actions if necessary.
Managing Alert Logs
- You can review all recorded geofence alerts in the Geofence Vehicle Alert Log list view.
- Each record shows the vehicle involved, geofence, movement type, timestamp, and location coordinates.
- Alerts can be filtered by vehicle, date range, or movement type for easy analysis.
Permissions
Access to create and manage geofence alerts and logs is controlled by user roles such as System Manager, Fleet Manager, and Fleet Master Manager.
