Van Schedule Addition

Introduction

The Van Schedule Addition module is used to create and manage detailed daily schedules for van trips. It is similar to the schedule addition for buses but is specifically designed for van routes, which often involve multiple pickup and drop-off points.

Purpose

This document allows you to define specific van schedules, including routes, timings, and all the stops along the way. You can either enter this information manually or import it from a file.

How to Use Van Schedule Addition

1. Create a New Schedule: Start by creating a new "Van Schedule Addition" document.
2. Fill in Details: Enter the basic information, such as the Schedule ID, City, From and To locations, and the start time in "Select Timings".
3. Import Locations (Recommended):
   • Click the Download Template button to get a sample CSV file.
   • Fill this file with your van's pickup and drop-off locations, timings, and other details.
   • Attach the completed file to the Upload Schedule field.
   • Click the Import Schedule button to automatically populate the "Van Schedule Locations" table.
4. Visualize the Route: Click the Show Map button to see all the schedule locations plotted on an interactive map. This helps you verify the route.
5. Save: Once all details are correct, save the document.

Key Buttons and Their Functions

• Download Template: Provides a CSV template to fill in your schedule's locations.
• Import Schedule: Uploads the location data from your CSV file into the schedule.
• Show Map: Opens a map to display the route and all its stops visually.
• Update OSM Details: Refreshes the geographic address information (from OpenStreetMap) for the locations in your schedule.
• Update Document Name: Renames the document based on its schedule ID, locations, and timing to keep it organized.

Important Fields

Field	Description
Schedule ID	A unique ID for this van schedule.
Select Timings	The start time of the trip.
From/To Location	The start and end points of the van trip.
Van Schedule Locations	A table listing all the pickup/drop-off points and other stops on the route.
Upload Schedule	The field where you attach your CSV file for import.

Tips and Best Practices

• For schedules with many stops, using the CSV import feature is the most efficient method.
• Always use the "Show Map" button to visually confirm that your route and stops are correct.
• Keep your `Trip Time Slot` configurations up to date, as the system uses them to automatically categorize your schedule's timing.
